• My language level is intermediate. Is this course for me?

Yes. This course is for everyone who is at least intermediate in English. This course does not cover what is usually taught at beginner and intermediate levels (for instance, this course does not explain why ‘do’ becomes ‘does’ in this sentence). In order to fully benefit from the course, you need to be at least on B1+/B2.

You can, however, get access to this course now, work your way through what you are still learning, and learn from my course later.

• Do I have to go through the course in the given order?

Modules open weekly, one by one, and what you decide to do with them is up to you. We’re not at school anymore, there are no tests, no exams and I won’t ask you to follow the program to a T.

It makes logical and practical sense to stick to the program of the course if you don’t want to miss anything - for instance, if you go to Module 5 and realize that there is a reference to something in Module 1, you might feel a little behind. But you can always go back :) The course is designed in such a way that you can watch whatever you need & when you need it and disregard any rules that you don’t absolutely have to follow - funny how that relates to using grammar, too, isn’t it?

• Will I be able to pass a C1 level exam after I have completed the course?

Yes. As far as grammar is concerned, this course will equip you with everything you need to know in order to crack the C1 exam tasks. Bear in mind, however, that you need to possess advanced (C1) knowledge in other language areas. This course will definitely boost your knowledge of grammar, but in order to pass exams you need to focus on increasing your range of vocabulary, practicing correct pronunciation, and improving your language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing).

• Is this course going to help me pass a C2 level exam? I am already on B2 and I want to be a C2 speaker of English.

Yes and no. C2 levels require an even more in-depth knowledge of language (that’s why this level is referred to as ‘near-native’ or ‘proficient,’ not only ‘advanced.’) Advanced Grammar University will provide you with everything that is necessary in order to understand English grammar on the advanced level, which will help you prepare for your C2 exam. However, there are still some grammatical concepts, vocabulary items and areas of language that you will need to study in order to pass an exam on C2. This course is definitely going to help you get there and understand even more when you start studying for C2. Because of the way the areas of grammar are explained in Advanced Grammar University, it will take you a shorter time when you go from C1 to C2.
