Welcome to
Week two
vowels
In Module Two, we will learn how to pronounce every vowel of General American English and how to produce them in different contexts in English. You’ll learn when to produce long and short vowels of GA (so monophthongs and diphthongs of GA) and understand the differences between RP and GA vowels.

Homework:
Watch the Bonus Pronunciation Practice video and pick a few techniques you’re going to use to work on your pronunciation. You can use as many as you want, and depending on the sound or your mood, you might feel like choosing different techniques. That’s amazing! I encourage you to find ways to practice that feel good to you.
Compare the sounds of your native language with the American English sounds and focus on those that you don’t have in your language.
Pick one sound per practice and see how it feels in your body to say this sound. When is it easier for you to pronounce this sound?
Reward yourself! That’s the most important exercise in this homework.
Developing an accent is work but for me, it is all about feeling good in your body when you speak and having a great time during practice. So get creative, trust yourself and practice in a way that is uniquely yours!
