How to Learn Languages - Module two
Welcome to
module two
mindset
Homework:
1) Intentions
How do you want to feel after completing this course?
What do you want to learn in this course?
Write your intentions in present tense.
2) In your notebook or your journal, write the answers to these questions:
1) Why do you want to learn this language? What is your why? (Your reason why will keep you going when you are not motivated or when you struggle with finding the time to study).
2) What are you going to do every day to achieve this goal?
3) If you come across any difficulties and problems, how are you going to deal with them?
There are no right or wrong answers but remember: be honest with yourself. Dig deep into what matters to you most and why you want to be a successful language learner.
3) Set your learning goals
Remember about the rules of goal-setting that Laura talked about in the video. Then, write your goals down in your notebook and review them regularly.
And remember - rewards are a very important part of your goals, so make sure to treat yourself when you’ve made significant progress! :)
4) Emotions
How do you want to feel when you’ve learned this language? Feel all of the emotions - pride, happiness, joy, comfort, satisfaction - right now. Fell them flowing through your body.
Imagine your life when you know this language. What do you do for a living? Where do you live? What do you do in your free time? What does your typical day look like? How often do you use this language? Do you know any other languages? Imagine this perfect scenario and write it down.
Feel the emotions of you already using this language on the desired level and go back to this state every time you need to pick yourself up. You can do this. You can learn this language. I believe in you. You can believe in yourself, too.
